Vancouver Airport Authority (YVR) provided access to 400 hotel rooms for passengers
In response to an overwhelming number of stranded passengers over the holidays, Vancouver Airport Authority (YVR) provided access to over 400 hotel rooms and restaurant gift cards to people facing overnight delays.
Passengers were able to stay free of charge for up to four nights as they waited for their next flight.
In partnership with Canadian Red Cross, YVR also set up a designated comfort area in Level 3 Departures stocked with cots, blankets, hygiene kits and other supplies for passengers who remained at the airport.
“We want to take a moment to thank the following partners for working with us to extend care and comfort to our passengers,” said a spokesperson for the Vancouver Airport Authority, extending its thanks to local hotel and foodservice organizations including:
